DPM Yadav stresses on launch of social democratization campaign

Janakpurdham – Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav has spoken of the need to launch the Social Democratization Campaign in the country. 


DPM Yadav said so at an interaction programme themed 'Roles and Responsibilities of the Stakeholders to end the Gender-based Violence' organized by the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens here today. 


Yadav viewed that it was high time we paid attention to the campaign of structural reforms in our attitude and societal norms and values to curb the gender-based discrimination and violence. 


Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Thammaya Thapa called for ending the unfair treatments towards daughters. She voiced her concerns over taking daughters as a 'liability'. 


Also speaking at the event, Province No 2 Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut shared that his provincial government had launched 'Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao' (Educate daughters and save daughters) in his province with an objective to empower girls. 


Furthermore, he informed that the girls and women were given high priority for the recruitment in the government service sector in his province.
