Scholarship doled out in memory of socialite

Bardibas – Forty one students of a school in Bardibas, Mahottari have been provided with scholarship amount in memory of a leading social worker late Krishna Prasad Poudel. The students of Janata Secondary School at Bijalpura in Bardibas Municipality were given Rs 400 each on behalf of 'Late Krishna Prasad Poudel Memorial Scholarship Trust'. 

School headmaster Bharat Prasad Yadav said that 36 outstanding students from grade 1 to 12 and five economically underprivileged, 'Dalits' and differently-abled students were given the amount on Wednesday on the first memorial day of late Poudel. 

Last year, late Poudel's son Subarna had provided Rs 151,000 to the school to establish the trust to support the brilliant and needy students. 

The Poudel family had also provided one bigha land for the school, five kaththa land each for building health post office and Nepal Red Cross Society, Bijalpura sub-branch.
