Rs 17.5 million donation collected in religious event

Kawasoti – A total of Rs 17.5 million was collected from the week-long Shreemad Bhagawat story recitation programme organized by Shanti Basic School at Madhyabindu Municipality-1 in Nawalparasi district. The total donation includes both the money and land plots pledged by the local folks. 

According to the organizer, the religious event was organized aiming to provide residential and quality education for free to the students from economically marginalized community and needy groups. School headmaster Dadhiram Sapkota said that the donation amount and land would be used for educational reform and physical infrastructure development of the school. The school with more than 260 students is hiring 10 teachers from its own source and is struggling hard to manage their salaries.
