Ward chairperson assaulted; his motorbike vandalized

Sarlahi – A group assaulted on Ramnagar Rural Municipality-4 Ward Chairperson, Ramnaresh Mahato. 
“A group of 15-20 people seen at the home of Upendra Roy of Ramnagar-4 had attacked me while I was on the way to Ward office on Monday”, said Mahato. 

In the attack, Ward Chairperson Mahato sustained deep head injuries and his left leg was fractured. 
He is undergoing treatment at Sarlahi Hospital Malangwa. He shared that the group led by locals, Shreenarayan Roy and Dharmendra Saha, had assaulted him. 

The assailants had also vandalized the motorbike Mahato was riding. Injured Mahato further informed the group had also looted cash, mobile and gold-made chain from him. 

He was elected ward chairperson from Nepali Congress party. Those involved in the incident are being searched for and investigation into the incident is underway, said Superintendant of Police (SP) Poshraj Pokharel. ---
