Local representatives urged to keep people in centre

Biratnagar –Province 1 chief minister Sherdhan Rai has stressed that people's representatives should work being responsible towards the nation and people. 

Speaking at an inaugural session of the first meeting of Province Coordination Council here today, the chief minister was of the view that the goal of a prosperous Nepal and happy Nepali would be easily achievable if local representatives became able to expedite development endeavors keeping the people at first. 

He underlined the need of policy-level coordination between the province and local-levels and a just distribution of natural resources between the both governments. Chief Minister Rai also called on the local governments not to exercise rights haphazardly, expressing his hope that the meeting would help to find solutions to local issues. The chief minister is the Council coordinator. 

The meeting attended by mayors and deputy mayors of 137 local levels of 14 districts under the Province 1 and district coordination committee coordinators and joint-coordinators will discuss about working procedures relating to the Council meeting, its ( Council)'s jurisdictions and other contemporary issues.
