Kathmandu – Various programmes were organized here today in the context of the World Teachers' Day.
At the call of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), 5th October every year is observed as the World Teachers' Day since 1994.
"The right to education means the right to a qualified teacher", is the theme of the Day for this year.
Nepal Teachers Federation held a daylong workshop in Lalitpur today on the occasion of World Teachers' Day. The event was supported by the UNESCO Kathmandu. Federation chair Baburam Thapa urged the government to take initiation to implement agreements relating to demands and facilities of teachers or else face teachers' agitation.
