Pilot Arrested in Lalitpur for Allegedly Assaulting Wife; Buddha Air Investigates

Kathmandu. Police have arrested a pilot working for Buddha Air from Lalitpur on charges of assaulting his wife. The arrested pilot has been identified as Aditya Kasju.

Meanwhile, Buddha Air has stated that it is seriously concerned about the news. The company has made its official stance public regarding the news that has appeared on social media and online.

Clarifying the incident, Buddha Air issued a statement saying, ‘We are seriously concerned about the news published on various online and social media platforms regarding a Buddha Air pilot in police custody. As mentioned in the news, the cause of the incident is related to family disputes and quarrels.’

Following the news of the pilot's arrest, the company has taken the matter seriously and initiated an internal investigation. The statement read, ‘We have formed an internal investigation committee and are proceeding with the necessary procedures.’

According to SP Gautam Mishra of the District Police Range, Lalitpur, he has been taken into custody and is being investigated for the offense of assaulting his wife in a fit of rage. Kasju, who was arrested a few days ago, is being further investigated by the Satdobato Police Circle. Preliminary police investigation has revealed that he assaulted his wife in a fit of rage due to family disputes.

The company has also clarified its commitment to passenger safety and its social responsibility. Promising to make the actual facts public after the investigation is completed, the statement said, ‘We have always given high priority to social responsibility and passenger safety. We will release the necessary information after a factual investigation into this matter is completed.’
