Sharma in Press Union Myagdi

Myagdi –The 7th general assembly and 5th convention of the Nepal Press Union, Myagdi Chapter held in Beni on Sunday elected a new working committee under Rakesh Sharma’s leadership. 


Among other elected in the committee are Ankit Pun and Ranjana Shrestha (vice-presidents), Sadhan Ramjali (secretary), Sabitri Subedi (joint-secretary) and Ganesh Gurung (treasurer). 


Among the elected members are Amit Garbuja, Sushil Kumar Thakali, Samjhana Ramjali, Anil Poudel and Sujata Khatry. 


On the occasion, journalist Hari Krishna Gautam, a reporter for Nagarik Daily, was honoured with the Press Union Journalism Award. The award bags a cash prize of Rs 5,000. 


Likewise, Sita Baniya, a landless squatter of Beni municipality-6, Bharale was handed over cash Rs 31,000 collected on the initiative of Janasamparka Samiti Portugal’s first vice-president, Wakil KC. 

Inaugurating the convention, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC demanded the government make public the report of the probe committee formed to investigate into the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta of Kanchanpur. ---
