Parliamentary Committees Schedule Meetings

Kathmandu. Meetings of various four committees under the Federal Parliament, House of Representatives and National Assembly are scheduled to be held on Monday. According to the Parliament Secretariat, members and stakeholders concerned have been requested to be present in these meetings with different agendas. The 13th meeting of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives will be held on Monday at 8:30 AM in the committee room of the Federal Parliament Secretariat building in Singhdarbar. The agenda of this meeting is to gather information from the National Planning Commission on various important issues. This will include discussions on the main activities carried out by the commission in the fiscal year 082/83, the implementation status of the 16th periodic plan, the implementation status of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), and the work progress of development projects including nationally prioritized projects. Similarly, the meeting of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM in the committee meeting room, informed Branch Officer Binita Marasini Panthi. The agenda for this meeting is to discuss the 'National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081'. The Minister and Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Executive Director of the National Forensic Science Laboratory, and subject expert Dr. Gopal Kumar Chaudhary have been invited to the meeting. On Monday itself, the eighth meeting of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives will also be held at 1:00 PM. Branch Officer Elisa Shrestha informed that the meeting, to be held in the committee meeting room in Singhdarbar, will discuss the 'Report of the Subcommittee on Inspection and Observation of the Human Rights Status of Children in Juvenile Correction Homes, 2083'. Furthermore, the meeting of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly is also scheduled to be held on Monday at 11:30 AM in the committee meeting room. The agenda for this meeting is to discuss the draft report of the field monitoring conducted in Madhesh Province.
