Dispute Over Audit Committee Subcommittees Resolved

Kathmandu. The dispute over the leadership of the subcommittees under the Audit Committee has been resolved. The leadership of five subcommittees under the committee was finalized in the committee meeting held on Friday. 

It was decided to form five subcommittees under the Audit Committee: Finance and Good Governance, State Security, Justice, Law and Administration, Physical Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Environment, Economic Production, Science and Human Capital, and Social Justice, Welfare and Inclusion to resolve various audits. 

However, the appointment of coordinators and members could not be finalized due to the stance of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party that it should lead all subcommittees. 

The dispute has been resolved with the agreement to cede leadership of two of the five subcommittees. Coordinators for all committees have also been finalized. Accordingly, Rukesha Ranjit of RSP for Finance and Good Governance Subcommittee, and Yagya Bogati of UML for State Security, Justice, Law and Administration Subcommittee.  

Similarly, Khusbu Oli of RPP for Physical Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Environment Subcommittee, Khagendra Sunar of RSP for Economic Production, Science and Human Capital Subcommittee, and Manish Jha will be the coordinators for Social Justice, Welfare and Inclusion Subcommittee.  

No one from the main opposition party Nepali Congress became a coordinator.
