Public Procurement Monitoring Office Blacklists 10 Construction Companies Including Pappu Construction

Kathmandu. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has blacklisted 10 construction and supplier companies including Pappu Construction. The office has blacklisted them for 1 to 3 years based on the recommendation of various public bodies.

Companies blacklisted will not be allowed to participate in any public procurement process (contracting) of the state for the specified period.

'Pappu/Mahadev JV' and 'Shrestha Construction Company' have been blacklisted for the longest period of 3 years, according to the notice published by the office. The JV, which includes Pappu Construction Pvt. Ltd., where former MP Sumit Rauniyar is the main person, and Mahadev Khimti Construction Service Pvt. Ltd., where Ravi Singh, former president of the Federation of Contractors' Associations of Nepal, is the main person, based on the recommendation of the HULAKI Highway Directorate, Planning Office Itahari, has been blacklisted for 3 years. The contract with Pappu/Mahadev JV was terminated on December 11 last year after they left the Kankai bridge in a dilapidated state for 14 years.

Similarly, based on the recommendation of the same office, Shrestha Construction Company (Hetaunda) Pvt. Ltd. of Hetauda, where Subhash Shrestha is the main person, has also been blacklisted for 3 years.

Likewise, based on the recommendation of the Infrastructure Development Directorate Surkhet, Hira Nepali Construction Service (Main person: Ranveer Nepali) of Jumla and Shuvam Construction Service (Main person: Rabin Shrestha) of Gorkha, based on the recommendation of the Road Division Harkapur, have been blacklisted for 2 years each.

Based on the recommendation of the Pushpalal (Madhyapahadi) Highway Project Office, Kushma, India/Siddhisai JV (Bharat Construction and Siddhisai Prakash Construction), where Dipendra Bahadur Shahi is the main person, has been blacklisted for 1 year and 6 months.

Similarly, companies blacklisted for 1 year include Global Drugs Suppliers, Lumbini Motors & Pump Industries Pvt. Ltd., Mayumi Construction Pvt. Ltd.

The Public Procurement Monitoring Office stated that this action has been taken in accordance with subsection (1) of section 63 of the Public Procurement Act, 2063.
