Teacher Gunjeswor Mandal Charged in Special Court for Forged Certificates

Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a charge sheet against Gunjeswor Mandal, a teacher at Janata Secondary School in Dhangadhimai Municipality, Siraha, at the Special Court. The Commission filed the case on Wednesday after it was confirmed that the PCL and Bachelor's level educational qualification certificates of teacher Mandal, who is working at the school in the Secondary Level Third Class, were fake.

Teacher Mandal had submitted fake educational certificates claiming to have passed ISc from Bihar Intermediate Education Council, Patna, India, and Bachelor's in Science from Chawdhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, at the time of his appointment to the teaching profession. It has been revealed from the investigation of the Commission that he obtained an appointment to the post of Secondary Level Third Class teacher and received government position, benefits, and facilities based on those fake certificates.

According to Suresh Neupane, spokesperson for the Commission, since Mandal has been found to have committed an offense as per Section 16 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, a charge sheet has been filed at the Special Court demanding punishment of imprisonment and fine as per the same Act.
