Country to Experience Thunderstorms and Rain Today

Kathmandu. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, major areas of the country are expected to experience thunderstorms and rain on Tuesday. According to the forecast, there is a 60 percent chance of rain in Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, Jiri, and Taplejung this afternoon.

Along with these cities, moderate rainfall with thunderstorms will occur in Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Jumla, Ghorahi, Dhankuta, Biratnagar, and Dharan. However, light rain is expected in Bhairahawa, Simara, Jomsom, and Janakpur in the afternoon.

In terms of temperature, the highest temperature is expected to reach 35 to 37 degrees Celsius in Dhangadhi and Nepalgunj this afternoon. The lowest temperature will be in Jomsom, ranging from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Kathmandu, the federal capital, will be between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius.

The weather tonight will remain cloudy, similar to the afternoon. There is a 60 percent chance of moderate rain with thunderstorms in Pokhara, Kathmandu, Biratnagar, and Taplejung tonight. The chance of rain in other cities is only 40 percent.

Light rain is expected in Jomsom and Jiri at night, while moderate rain is forecast in all other cities. The lowest temperature at night will be in Jomsom, ranging from 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. The highest minimum temperature at night will be in Bhairahawa and Janakpur, ranging from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature in Kathmandu will drop to 20 to 22 degrees Celsius at night.
