Narayankaji Shrestha Urges Government for Scientific and Humane Resettlement of Squatters

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party leader Narayankaji Shrestha has urged the government to arrange for the scientific and humane resettlement of squatters kept in holding centers as soon as possible. He made the request by writing a status on social media Facebook on Monday.

Leader Shrestha has also urged to immediately stop the act of forcibly evicting squatters. Otherwise, he warned that the consequences could be very serious.

He said: 'Currently, squatters are being given notices, threats, and warnings to forcibly evict them from those holding centers without arrangements for rehabilitation, which is completely wrong and irresponsible. Let the squatters be provided with scientific and humane resettlement as soon as possible, and until such arrangements are made, the act of forcibly evicting them from the holding centers should be stopped, otherwise the consequences could be very serious.'

He also accused the government led by Balendra of inhumanely evicting squatters by using force, including the Nepal Army and other security forces.
