Flood Forecasting Department: Major River Flows Below Alert Level

Kathmandu. According to the bulletin issued by the Flood Forecasting Department on Friday morning, the flow of major rivers in the country is currently below the alert level. According to the department's morning measurement, the water level of Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries is normal. Similarly, the flow in the Kankai, Kamala, Eastern Rapti and Western Rapti rivers also appears to be under control.

However, there is a possibility of a significant increase in the flow of small rivers flowing through Rupandehi, Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Bara, Ilam and surrounding districts today. The department has predicted a low risk of flash floods in these small rivers. Therefore, residents of the coastal areas of these rivers have been requested to take normal precautions.

Tomorrow and the day after, the flow of some small rivers flowing through Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Madhesh Province may increase suddenly. The department has drawn attention to the need for necessary preparedness and vigilance in the coastal areas by observing the weather and river conditions for the next three days.
