Hetauda Municipality Presents Budget of NPR 2.85 Billion for Fiscal Year 2083/84

Makwanpur. Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City has presented a budget of NPR 2.85 billion 50 million for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. The budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year has been reduced by NPR 50 million compared to the current fiscal year at the 19th Municipal Assembly of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City held on Tuesday.

Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City had allocated a budget of NPR 2.90 billion for the current fiscal year. The budget for the upcoming fiscal year, presented by Rajesh Baniya, Deputy Mayor of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, at the Municipal Assembly, prioritizes infrastructure development, education, health, and good governance.

The sub-metropolitan city aims to collect NPR 573.68 million from internal sources out of the total allocated budget, while NPR 992.048 million will be from revenue sharing, NPR 100.172 million from various grants from the provincial government, and NPR 1.1846 billion from the federal government's grants.

Prioritizing infrastructure development in the sub-metropolitan city's budget, NPR 671.981 million has been allocated for the implementation of plans for the upcoming fiscal year. Out of this, NPR 484.062 million has been set aside for ward-level plans and programs. NPR 15 million will be spent on road board projects, NPR 95 lakh on road safety and smart city programs, and NPR 53 lakh on CCTV camera installation.

NPR 19 million has been allocated for drinking water projects in partnership with the Hetauda Drinking Water Management Board. NPR 5 million has been allocated for the project bank, NPR 20 million for emergency infrastructure maintenance, NPR 46 million for integrated bus park and terminal building, and NPR 264.9 million for urban development and infrastructure development programs.

The sub-metropolitan city has prioritized improving the quality of education, technical education, physical strengthening of schools, and expanding access to infrastructure development. In health, the 'Mayor with the People Health Program', doorstep health services for the elderly and disabled, and maternal-child health are being promoted with importance.

For economic development, NPR 41.6 million has been allocated for programs to improve the agricultural sector at the provincial and federal levels, NPR 32.4 million for animal development, and NPR 11.9 million for industry and cooperatives. Similarly, NPR 14 million has been set aside for the development of the sports sector by organizing Mayor Cup, Deputy Mayor Cup, and other competitions.

A total of NPR 10 million has been allocated for the city's cleanliness and waste management. NPR 21 million will be spent on fire engine operation, maintenance, and fire control, and NPR 35.5 million on environmental protection and disaster management, as stated in the budget speech.

NPR 450 million has been allocated for office operation and administrative expenses, while an additional NPR 26.5 million budget has been arranged for institutional capacity development, good governance promotion, and information technology use.
