Road Transport Disrupted Across Nepal Due to Rain and Maintenance

Kathmandu. Road transport services have been affected on the main highways due to rain and road maintenance in various parts of the country. Many road sections are closed completely or partially due to floods, landslides, and maintenance work.

The Satungal-Chitlang road section connecting Kathmandu Valley has been completely blocked since Jestha 16. This road will remain closed for another month due to a landslide in Deurali Devisthan, Chandragiri Municipality-9, and subsequent maintenance work.

Roads in Bokhim, Bhojpur, and Dobhan, Panchthar are operating only one-way due to floods. Traffic has been completely stopped since Jestha 2 due to a landslide in Pankhu Khola, Khotang.

The Mechi Corridor has been completely blocked due to floods in Puwa Khola, Ilam. However, the Mechi Highway can be used as an alternative route.

Vehicle operation has been stopped since Jestha 22 on the Kavrepalanchok section of the BP Highway due to potential flood risks.

The Kulekhani-Phakhel-Humane-Pharping-Kathmandu road section in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur has been completely closed for one month due to road maintenance work. This road has been closed since Jestha 15.
