Road up-gradation drive gathers momentum

Butwal – Butwal sub-metropolis has stepped up up-gradation of roads within its territory. 
Spokesperson of the sub-metropolis, Ram Prasad Regmi shared the progress that so far 5000 metres of road stretch were upgraded; over 460 pipes of different sizes laid and hum pipes installed in culverts in different wards of Butwal. 


He further informed that roads were blacktopped along with construction and renovation of 27 bridges and culverts as well as laying of 97 hum pipes with the government grants of Rs 5 million. 


Meanwhile, under the city illumination campaign, the Butwal sub-metropolis has expanded around 4,000 metres electric lines and installed eight transmitters at Semlar Motipur, Tamnagar and Nayagaun areas among others in collaboration with Electricity Authority Office. 


Likewise, 156 solar lights were set up and 55 were maintained under the same campaign, Regmi shared. ---
