Cargo Ship Attacked by US Missile Near Iran

Tehran. Iranian state media claimed that a cargo ship traveling from Oman to Iran was hit by a US missile/projectile. According to Iran's state television IRIB, the ship was carrying essential goods from Oman's Qeshab city towards Iran's Sirik. IRIB, quoting Sirik Governor Reza Shahidiyan, reported that the ship was damaged by an enemy missile when it was about 5 nautical miles away from Qeshab. The ship had a capacity of 150 tons and had 5 crew members. According to the report, all crew members on board were rescued with the help of other passing ships and were transferred to Oman. Photos released by IRIB and other Iranian media show the ship partially submerged in the sea. This incident is said to have occurred on the second night of the ongoing military tension between the US and Iran. Earlier, the US military stated that it had attacked surveillance, communication, and air defense systems within Iran. US President Donald Trump warned that further attacks could occur if no agreement is reached.
