Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh Objects to Proposed Taxes on Education and Health in Upcoming Fiscal Year

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh has expressed objection to the government imposing taxes on the education and health sectors in the upcoming fiscal year.

Commenting on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084, he stated that since the constitution places education and health in the list of fundamental rights, the state cannot impose taxes on them. 

“I am an honorable member who signed the constitution, but how and why can taxes be levied on fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution?” he said.
