Portugal Defeats Chile 2-1 in Friendly Match

Kathmandu. In an international friendly match held in Lisbon on Saturday night, host team Portugal defeated Chile by a score of 2-1. For Portugal, preparing for the FIFA World Cup 2026, Bruno Fernandes and Goncalo Guedes scored goals to ensure victory. The competition between both teams, reduced to 10 players, was very exciting and tense.

Although the first half of the game ended in a goalless draw, tension arose on the field in injury time. A fight between Portugal's winger Rafael Leao and Chile's Ivan Ramon led the referee to show both players a direct red card and send them off the field. Leao, who had a poor season in Milan before this, appeared aggressive in the initial moments, but his undisciplined behavior put the team under pressure for some time.

In the second half, coach Roberto Martinez changed the strategy and brought Goncalo Guedes into the field in place of Cristiano Ronaldo. Guedes scored an excellent goal from a pass by Ruben Neves shortly after entering the field, giving Portugal the lead. After that, Bruno Fernandes doubled the lead with a spectacular goal from outside the penalty area. Lucas Cepeda of Chile scored a goal in the final moments of the game, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
