Five Injured in Tanker-Car Collision on Mahendra Highway

Dang. Five people have been injured in a collision between a milk-carrying tanker and a car near Chiyaukhola of Lamahi Municipality-9 on the East-West Mahendra Highway. The accident occurred when the tanker numbered Lu 1 Ka 5498 traveling from east to west collided with the car numbered Ba 9 Cha 4794 coming from west to east. Five people, including the car driver, were injured in the accident. The injured have been sent to Banke for treatment. The tanker driver, 34-year-old Shivanarayan Tharu, a resident of Buddhbhumi Municipality-9, Kapilvastu, has been taken into custody and further investigation into the incident is underway. The injured include car driver 25-year-old Dipesh Bhandari, a resident of Dang Shantinagar-6, car passengers 27-year-old Gita BK, a resident of Surkhet Gurbakot Municipality-4, 61-year-old Madale BK, a resident of Gurbakot-1, 25-year-old Kapil KC, a resident of Dang Tulsipur-9, and 32-year-old Kausila BK, a resident of Banke Kohalpur-10.
