Pokhara Businessmen Demand Two-Sided Parking

Pokhara. Businessmen in Pokhara's New Road area have demanded that they be allowed to park on both sides of the road. The businessmen have made this demand after Pokhara Metropolitan City, in coordination with the police, launched an operation to clear the footpath.

The Metropolitan City has decided to allow parking on only one side of the road. The affected parties complain that this one-sided parking has caused losses to businessmen in the other area. Pokhara Metropolitan City has arranged vehicle parking only on the eastern side of New Road.

They said that this makes it difficult for customers to cross the road to the other side, causing problems in their business. They have put up banners demanding that all houses on the western side of New Road should have organized parking on both sides. New Road Parking Management Committee coordinator Rajkumar Ramtel demanded that parking arrangements be made on both the right and left sides of the road.

According to him, traffic police have been impounding vehicles parked on the western side of New Road for the past week and a half. Hotel Deep Sagar operator KP Padhya Sharma also said that parking only on the eastern side has put the businesses on the western side in crisis.

He stated that if parking arrangements are not made on both sides of the road, they may have to abandon their businesses.
