Tottenham Hotspur Nears Finalization of Deal for Full-Back Andy Robertson

London. Tottenham Hotspur has reached the final stage of preparations for a contract with Scotland's full-back Andy Robertson, who has departed from Liverpool.

32-year-old defender Robertson played his last match for Liverpool against Brentford last Sunday.

He had already announced his departure from the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season. Although some technical points of the contract with Tottenham remain to be finalized, a consensus in principle has been reached between both parties.

Tottenham had attempted to bring in Robertson during the January transfer window of last year, under the leadership of then-coach Thomas Frank. An agreement was reached between the two clubs at that time, but Liverpool canceled the deal at the last moment as they could not recall their player Kostas Tsimikas, who was on loan at Roma.

Tottenham, under the leadership of new coach Roberto De Zerbi, managed to avoid relegation in the Premier League by defeating Everton on the final day of this season. The highly experienced defender Robertson has won 92 caps for Scotland and will captain his country in the World Cup to be held this summer.

Having played 378 matches for Liverpool, he won the Premier League twice and the Champions League once during his time at Anfield.
