Late Lovers and Sagarmatha Win SEE Three on Three Basketball Championship

Kathmandu. Late Lovers 'A' and Sagarmatha have won the SEE Three on Three Basketball Championship on Sunday.

Late Lovers became first in the boys' category and Sagarmatha in the girls' category of the competition.

In the boys' final match held at the organizer Angel's Heart's court in Manmaiju, Late Lovers defeated Airjo 'B' by a score of 21-15. Mahendra Pakurel scored a maximum of 12 points in Late Lovers' victory.

Similarly, in the girls' title clash, Sagarmatha defeated Valley Public 'A' by 15-9. Lorisha Gauchan scored 10 points for Sagarmatha's victory.

The winning teams in both categories received a cash prize of 15 thousand rupees and the runners-up received 10 thousand rupees. Along with the cash prize, the players of the winning and runners-up teams will also receive full scholarships to study Plus Two at Angel's Heart. Principal of Angel's Heart, Dhan Bahadur Pun, informed that all other participating players will also be provided with a 50 percent scholarship. Players interested in receiving the scholarship must contact within 10 days.

Lorisha Gauchan of Sagarmatha was declared the best player in the overall competition. Similarly, Mahendra Pakurel of Late Lovers in the boys' category and Lakshee Lama of Sagarmatha in the girls' category were selected as 'Most Valuable Player'.

The winning players and teams were awarded by Kathmandu Hisan Chairman Gopi Parajuli and Vice-Chairman Shivaprasad Aryal, Coordinator of Kathmandu District Education Coordination Unit Training Department Yuvraj Dahal, Chairman of Angel's Heart Education Foundation Lil Bahadur Pun, Principal of Angel's Heart Dhan Bahadur Pun, Chairman of Angel's Sports and Recreation Center Khim Bahadur Thapa, and Managing Director of Sarva Shakti Cooperative Amar Maharjan, among others, at a program. 40 teams in the boys' category and 14 teams in the girls' category participated in the two-day competition.
