Prachanda States Current Political Path is Incorrect, Cites Government Actions

Surkhet. CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has stated that the country's politics and current situation are not moving in the right track. Speaking at a press conference in Birendranagar on Sunday morning, he said that the government cannot be supported due to various suspicions and questions surrounding it.

'The problem of landless people has not been resolved, and it still exists as a serious problem,' he said. 'Issues related to trade unions and students are also serious. The discussion paper that the government was supposed to prepare for constitutional amendment has also not come forward in a transparent manner. That itself is becoming a subject of serious discussion.'

Prachanda stated that the current Balen Shah's intentions do not appear good in all aspects, including bringing ordinances.

'It is a shameful thing to call for a session yourself, have nearly a two-thirds majority, and be able to bring bills through regular procedures, but to abandon that path and go through ordinances,' he added. 'We are protesting that too.'

He said that he would cooperate from his side if the government does good work for the strengthening of democracy, the protection of the constitution, and its amendment. Initially, he had said that many things were broadly okay. However, as various activities of the government began to unfold, he found nothing that could be supported.

'Instead, many things are seen that need to be opposed, protested, and voices raised from the public level,' Prachanda further said. 'I have suggested to the government in the parliament to be a little cautious.'

He said that if the government does not take these matters seriously, a situation may arise where it has to be opposed from all sides.
