Monsoon Expected Early in India, Heatwave Alerts Issued

New Delhi. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, this year the monsoon is likely to reach Kerala 4 days before the scheduled time, i.e., on May 26. However, according to the American weather agency National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, it is feared that this year the monsoon will be weak, there will be drought, and severe heat will increase.

In India, the monsoon usually enters Kerala on June 1. This time, the monsoon is expected to reach other states early as well. The monsoon is likely to reach Rajasthan by June 20, Madhya Pradesh by June 12, Uttar Pradesh by June 18, and Bihar between June 8 and 10.

Regarding temperature, a heatwave alert has been issued today for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Vidarbha. The temperature in many districts of these states is estimated to reach 46 to 47 degrees Celsius. Hot winds are also expected to blow in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha tonight, with a warning issued.
