Three Dead, Two Injured in Brick Kiln Collapse in Haripur

Haripur. Three people have died and two have been injured in a brick pile collapse at Krishna Brick Industry in Majuwa, Haripur Municipality-5, Sarlahi. The pile collapsed around 6 PM on Friday while removing bricks, according to the District Police Office Sarlahi. The deceased have been identified as Fitaai Mansur, 50, of Gaudeta Municipality-7 Ramwan, Sarlahi; Shambhu Raut, 35, of Gaudeta Municipality-9; and Angad Kumar, 35, of Lakhimpur, India. They were pronounced dead by doctors at Provincial Hospital Malangawa at 7:15 PM, 6:56 PM, and 6:47 PM respectively, according to police. Tulasi Mahato, 32, of Malangwa Municipality-7, Sarlahi, and Satya Narayan Mahato, 52, of the same place, were injured in the incident. Tulasi Mahato is receiving treatment at Provincial Hospital Malangawa, while Satya Narayan Mahato is being treated at a local clinic in Majuwa. Both are reported to be in stable condition, police said. Police received information about the incident around 6:30 PM from locals. A team from the Area Police Office Haripur was dispatched to the scene. The police team immediately rescued the injured and sent them to Provincial Hospital Malangawa, Sarlahi. The incident site is about 5 kilometers southeast of the Area Police Office Haripur. According to police, the owner of the brick industry is Birendra Chaudhary, residing in Kaudena Bazaar. Currently, efforts are underway to clear the bricks and soil using a JCB at the scene, police informed. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
