US President Trump's Missile Defense Program Cost Estimated at $1.2 Trillion

Washington DC. A new estimate has been released that the cost of the 'Golden Dome' missile defense program proposed by US President Donald Trump could reach approximately 1.2 trillion US dollars in 20 years.

According to a report by the Associated Press, an analysis prepared by the Congressional Budget Office shows that the cost of this project will be much higher than the initial estimate.

Previously, Trump had stated that the cost of the plan would be around 175 billion dollars. He had put forward a plan to make America secure through a missile defense system similar to Israel's 'Iron Dome', which also includes the concept of placing weapon systems in space.

This system will be based on the Iron Dome, whose purpose is to detect and destroy missiles launched during an attack. So far, the US Congress has approved approximately 24 billion dollars for this project. 

Trump had ordered the installation of this system within the first week of his term. He expects the system to be operational before his term ends in January 2029.
