Trump States No Chinese Help Needed for Iran Conflict Ahead of Beijing Visit

Washington DC. US President Donald Trump has said that he does not need China's help to end the war with Iran. 

Speaking to reporters in Washington DC before departing for Beijing for a high-level meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Trump claimed that the US would win this war at any cost. 

Trump's three-day visit to China comes at a time when his popularity has declined due to the long war with Iran and rising inflation. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted global energy supply, causing fuel prices to rise excessively and putting the global economy at risk. 

Before leaving for China, Trump gave contradictory statements on Iran. He initially said that he would have a long discussion with President Xi about Iran, but changed his statement a few minutes later, stating that Iran is completely under control and there is no need to discuss this matter. 

Trump, who will arrive in Beijing on Wednesday evening, is scheduled to attend a state dinner on Thursday and hold talks with Xi over lunch on Friday. This is Trump's first visit to China since starting his second term in January 2025. 

During this visit, Trump appears to be particularly focused on trade agreements. He has said that he will discuss further sales of American food products and aircraft to China. 

For this, he has brought along business magnates such as Elon Musk of Tesla and Tim Cook of Apple. Preparations are also underway to establish a 'Board of Trade' to resolve trade disputes between the two countries. 

In addition, the issue of Taiwan is also likely to be a major topic of discussion, as Beijing is dissatisfied with the US plan to sell $11 billion worth of arms to Taiwan. 

Peace talks between Iran and the US are currently completely stalled. The US is demanding an end to Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions on waterways, while Iran has put forward conditions for war reparations and a ceasefire in the Israel-Hezbollah war. Trump has called Iran's conditions 'trash'. 

While US officials are urging China to use its influence on Iran, Trump has publicly reiterated that he does not need China's help. Earlier, after reports that China was about to provide Iran with an air defense system, Trump had threatened to impose a 50% tariff, but later withdrew the decision after receiving written assurances from Xi.
