Qatar Condemns Drone Attack on Cargo Ship in Its Territorial Waters

Kathmandu. Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement condemning an attack on a cargo ship near the capital Doha in Qatar's water area. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in a statement released through social media, said, 'Qatar strongly condemns the drone attack which targeted a cargo ship traveling in Qatar's water area northeast of Mesaieed port on Sunday morning.' The statement further said, 'This attack caused a minor fire on the ship, but no injuries have been reported.' Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called this attack a gross violation of international law. It has also been described as a dangerous and tension-escalating move. Earlier, Fars News Agency and Iran's state news agency had claimed that an American cargo ship was targeted near Qatar. Both news agencies claimed that the ship was owned by America and was traveling under the American flag.
