Hima Rural Municipality Wins 16th District-Level President Running Shield Competition

Jumla. Hima Rural Municipality has become first in the 16th District-Level President Running Shield competition held at Odi in Himgaunpalika-2 of the district. Hima became first by obtaining 25 gold medals in the final match held on Friday.

Chandanath Municipality became second by obtaining 14 gold medals, while Patarasi Rural Municipality became third with five gold medals, informed Bam Bahadur Shah, head of the sports and education branch of Hima Rural Municipality.

Similarly, Kanakasundari Rural Municipality became fourth, Sinja fifth, Tila seventh, and Tatopani Rural Municipality eighth, informed Shah. Players selected from seven local levels here participated in the district-level running shield competition, he said.

Karate, Wushu, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Athletics, Kabaddi, etc. were played in the district-level running shield competition, informed Hima Rural Municipality Chairman Laxman Shahi. Except for Guthichaur Rural Municipality, seven local levels out of the eight local levels in the district participated in the competition, informed the municipality's Education, Youth and Sports Development Branch.
