Motorable Concrete Bridge Constructed on Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road

Myagdi. A concrete bridge suitable for motor operation has been constructed over the Kaiku stream on the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road. The Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project Office has constructed a 20-meter long concrete bridge over the Kaiku stream in Thasang Rural Municipality. Information Officer of the Project Office, Engineer Jemkumar Batha, said that after the completion of the bridge construction, transportation vehicles have started operating. The contract for the construction of the Kaiku stream bridge was signed on April 24, 2024 (Baisakh 11, 2081 BS) for Rs 53,463,624. Structures for upgrading the access road to the bridge and for flood and erosion control have also been constructed. A total of 15 concrete bridges have been constructed so far on the 202-kilometer Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, from Lamdhunga in Parbat to the Korala border in China's Tibet Autonomous Region. One bridge is under construction over the Ghmi stream in Lho-Ghekar Damodarkunda Rural Municipality. Six Bailey bridges have also been constructed on this road.
