Nepal Women's Cricket Team Announced for Malaysian Tour

Kathmandu. Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has announced the Nepali women's national cricket team for two important international tournaments to be held in Malaysia. 

CAN released a press statement on Wednesday, announcing a 14-member team for the tournaments to be held in May and June. 

According to CAN, this team will represent Nepal in the 'Asian Games Women's Qualifier–2026' to be held in Malaysia from May 23 to 31, and immediately thereafter in the 'ACC Women's Premier Cup–2026' to be held from June 1 to 13. 

The announced team will be led by regular captain Indu Barma, while Puja Mahato has been given the responsibility of vice-captain.  The team includes experienced players Sita Rana Magar and Rubina Chhetri, along with Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Ruby Poddar, Kabita Joshi, Kabita Kunwar, and Riya Sharma.

Anu Kathayat, Manisha Upadhyay, Sony Pakhrin, and Simana KC have also secured a place in the national team.

In addition to the main team, CAN has kept four players on the reserve list. The reserve players include Savitri Dhami, Somu Bisht, Sana Praveen, and Laxmi Saud. CAN spokesperson Chumbi Lama expressed confidence that the Nepali team will perform excellently in both these tournaments to be held in Malaysia.
