Cricket Association of Nepal Internal Dispute Surfaces Over NPL Transparency

Kathmandu. An internal dispute within the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has surfaced. Nine board members led by CAN Vice-President Roshan Singh have submitted a request to Secretary Paras Khadka questioning the transparency of the Nepal Premier League (NPL)'s income-expenditure and other important decisions.

Vice-President Singh and other members have demanded that all financial details, audit reports, title sponsor, and other agreement documents related to NPL Season-1 and Season-2 be made public. They have accused the leadership of ignoring these details when requested via email and board meetings on multiple occasions.

The request seeks details of the NPL's operating council decisions, bank balances, sponsorship agreements, and tenders exceeding ten lakhs. They have expressed serious dissatisfaction, stating that the annual program and budget were sent to the ICC without formal board approval.

The letter, addressed to Secretary Paras Khadka and President Chatur Bahadur Chand, mentions that 'unilateral decision-making tendencies' have dominated CAN and that institutional good governance has been seriously violated.

The disgruntled members have also warned that if their demands are not met, they will be forced to seek legal and constitutional remedies in court. They have also drawn the attention of the National Sports Council (NSC) to this matter.
