Nepal Sets Oman Target of 257 in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2

Kathmandu. In the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match, Nepal has set a target of 257 runs for Oman to win.

Batting first after winning the toss at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Nepal lost all wickets in 49.5 overs, scoring 256 runs.

Nepal's start was not good. Vinod Bhandari returned to the pavilion without scoring in the second over.

After that, Arjun Kumal and Asif Sheikh handled Nepal's innings with a century partnership. Sheikh was only 6 runs short of a century. He scored 94 runs in 97 balls with the help of 7 fours and 5 sixes.

Kumal also narrowly missed a half-century. He scored 48 runs in 87 balls. He hit 4 fours.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored 33 runs in 42 balls. He hit 1 four. Aarif Sheikh played an excellent cameo, scoring 43 runs at a fast pace. He hit 1 four and 4 sixes in just 24 balls.

Gulshan Jha scored 17 runs in 23 balls, while captain Rohit Paudel could only manage 9 runs in 16 balls. Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, and Sandeep Lamichhane could not make a significant contribution.

For Oman, Nadeem Khan took 3 wickets, conceding 41 runs in 10 overs. Hasan Shah and Shakil Ahmed took 2 wickets each. Jiten Ramdani and Aryan Bishnoi took 1 wicket each.

In the ongoing series, Nepal defeated UAE by 37 runs in the first match. However, in the second match, Nepal lost to Oman by 102 runs in the DLS method. 

In the third match, Nepal managed to defeat UAE by 6 runs in the DLS method. Nepal is in second to last place in the table with 16 points from 23 matches.
