Heavy Rainfall, Thunderstorms, and Hail Expected Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has projected heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and windstorms in various parts of the country today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a general possibility of clouds across the country and rainfall and snowfall in most areas.

Meteorologists have stated that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in one or two places in the Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces in particular. Hailstorms are expected in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including the Lumbini province. In some areas of the Terai, strong winds are estimated to blow.

The weather is not expected to improve tonight either. The division has stated that clouds will continue to cover the country and there will be rainfall in some places in the Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in one or two places in the Lumbini province during the night.

The department has urged everyone to take necessary precautions as windstorms, lightning, and heavy rainfall may affect daily life and transportation. It has been advised to stay safe due to the risk of snowfall in the hilly and mountainous regions and windstorms in the Terai.
