Iran Responds to US Proposal with 14 Points

Tehran. Iran has given a 14-point response to the proposal presented by America. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) related Tasnim news agency gave this information on Saturday. According to Tasnim, Iran sent its proposal through Pakistani mediation. The proposal includes the demand to end the ongoing war on all fronts, including Lebanon.

According to the news, America had proposed a two-month ceasefire. However, Iran has expressed the view that problems should be resolved within 30 days and talks should focus on the complete end of the war rather than extending the ceasefire. 

Iranian officials have not yet publicly disclosed the detailed details of the response. US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he would review the plan. However, he had reacted that it was difficult to imagine it would be acceptable.

According to Tasnim, this response has come in reply to the 9-point proposal put forward by America. Iran's proposal includes assurances of not engaging in military attacks and withdrawing US soldiers from areas around Iran. In addition, demands to release frozen Iranian assets, lift sanctions, and establish a new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz have also been mentioned in the proposal.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has said that the proposal is aimed at a permanent end to the war. Talking to Iranian state broadcaster IRIB, he said that the decision is now in America's hands. "It is now a situation where America has to decide whether to choose the diplomatic path or continue the confrontational strategy," he said.
