EFS Fight Night 8 to Host 26 Muay Thai Bouts in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. 'EFS Fight Night 8' is set to be organized in Kathmandu with the objective of developing and promoting the sport of Muay Thai in Nepal. This exciting martial arts competition will take place on May 16, 2028, organized by WBC Muay Thai Nepal.

The fight night is being organized with the goal of raising the standard of Nepali Muay Thai according to international standards and establishing a strong presence on the world stage, the organizers stated. WBC Muay Thai Nepal, established on August 27, 2021, has been emphasizing player development, organized competition, and international exposure.

According to the organizers, a total of 26 bouts (fights) will be held in this competition, in which 52 players will compete. Of these, 6 fights will be fully professional, while the remaining fights will be conducted based on amateur and pro-amateur rules. Players from 9 different gyms across the country will participate in the competition, which clearly shows the growing craze for Muay Thai in Nepal.

The main attraction of the competition will be the clash in the 58 kg Super Featherweight category. In this title bout, Kamabahadur Magarati of Irawan Muay Thai Fight Gym and Gumman Ghartimagar of Gymkhana Performance will face each other. The player who wins this match will receive the 'WBC Muay Thai National Championship' belt along with a cash prize of one lakh rupees.

Similarly, in the co-main event under the 48 kg Light Flyweight category, there will be an international clash between Nepal and India. Nepal's Karishma Karki will compete against India's Pushpa R. This international bout between female players is also being watched with great interest.

Besides this, other exciting fights have also been scheduled in various weight categories under the preliminary competition. Tough competitions will be held in the ring between Santosh Khatri and Allen Thakali, Furba Sherpa and Anup Katwal, Sanju Lama and Alish Bomjan, and Mubin Rai and Dawa Lama.

This grand sports event has been supported by Bagmati Youth and Sports Council and Budhanilkantha Municipality.
