Nepal Defeats UAE by 6 Runs via DLS Method in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2

Kathmandu. Nepal has defeated UAE by 6 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 using the DLS Method.

In the rain-affected match, UAE, who were given a target of 255 in 38 overs, could only manage to score 248 for the loss of 8 wickets.

For UAE, Muhammad Sahadat scored 65 runs and Khurram Tanvir scored 49 runs, but they could not lead the team to victory. Harpreet Singh also played a knock of 41 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets, while Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav took 2 wickets each to give Nepal the victory. Nepal, batting first at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, had scored 290 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored a brilliant century for the team. He scored 100 runs off 94 balls, hitting 13 fours and 1 six.

Similarly, Binod Bhandari also played a half-century innings. He scored 56 runs off 79 balls with 7 fours. Captain Rohit Paudel scored 39 runs off 48 balls. Arif Sheikh and Arjun Kumal contributed 11 runs each.

Gulshan Jha added 44 runs off 38 balls, taking Nepal towards a huge total. He hit 4 fours and 2 sixes in the process. For UAE, Ajay Kumar and Junaid Siddiqui took 2 wickets each. Haider Ali and Khurram Tanvir took 1 wicket each.

Nepal had defeated UAE by 37 runs in the first match and lost to Oman by 102 runs in the second match.
