Tarun Dal Chairman Bidhan Gurung Resigns

Kathmandu. Tarun Dal Chairman Bidhan Gurung has resigned from his post. On Wednesday, Gurung submitted his resignation letter to the party central office in Sanepa, addressing it to Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa.

Gurung, who was appointed as the Chairman of Tarun Dal on February 21, 2022 (Falgun 9, 2078 BS), expressed his gratitude to former President Sher Bahadur Deuba and the former central working committee for the responsibility given by the party. In his resignation letter, he thanked the former chairmen, working committee members, district presidents, and Tarun friends across the country who supported him during his tenure.

Gurung acknowledged in the resignation letter that although the party had set a deadline to complete the fifth general convention by the end of November 2026 (Mangsir 2083 BS), the convention could not be completed due to the difficult situation arising from the country's recent political developments.

He also mentioned in the resignation letter that Tarun Dal needs to be moved forward in a way that is suitable for the time and era to strengthen democracy and institutionalize the new mandate.

Gurung stated that he resigned with the objective of creating a conducive environment for the campaign of party building.
