Bagmati Province Government Asks Lawmakers to Submit Project Proposals for Upcoming Budget

Hetauda. The Bagmati Province government has issued a notice asking lawmakers to send in project proposals for the selection of projects for the upcoming fiscal year's budget. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning issued a letter on Wednesday, setting a deadline of Baishakh 21 for submitting project details.

The ministry has requested provincial assembly members, through correspondence, to submit annual project proposals and selected projects according to the 'Guidelines for Project Proposal and Selection, 2083' within the six-day deadline.

As per the directive of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning, Prabhat Tamang, the letter issued by his Principal Private Secretary, Aasis Neupane, urges lawmakers to submit project proposals within six days.

'You are hereby notified to provide project details in the format specified in Schedule 3 of the Guidelines for Project Proposal and Selection by Baishakh 21, 2083, to the concerned implementation unit/office,' the letter states.

The ministry has stated that due to limited resources, priority will be given only to projects that yield high returns and benefit a majority of citizens. The ministry added that if lawmakers fail to submit their project proposals within the stipulated six days, projects in their constituencies will not be included in the next fiscal year's budget.

Provincial assembly members are required to prepare the details of the projects they propose in the format specified in Schedule 3 of the Guidelines and submit them to the relevant implementation unit or office by Baishakh 21, 2083.

The ministry stated that it has been requesting project proposals on time according to the budget preparation schedule.
