Imran Khan Undergoes Fourth Eye Surgery at PIMS Hospital

Kathmandu. Former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has undergone his fourth eye surgery at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). According to the hospital, he received an intravitreal anti-(VEGF) injection for the fourth time. He was discharged from PIMS hospital on Tuesday morning. Imran Khan has been battling a serious eye problem for some time. 74-year-old Imran Khan was brought to the hospital for treatment on April 28. Doctors said after examination that his condition was stable. After the necessary procedures in the operating theater, he was given the injection for the fourth time. Imran Khan has Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) in his right eye, which was detected at the end of January this year. Khan had previously received his first injection on January 24. He received the second dose on February 24 and the third dose on March 23. Doctors said that his condition has shown improvement in the latest tests. The procedure was considered daycare surgery, after which he was discharged from the hospital with necessary recommendations. Imran Khan was taken to PIMS for injection and medical check-up at night. The opposition has been continuously demanding that Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for treatment. PTI has accused the government of not being transparent about Khan's health and not allowing his private doctors to see him. The government has clearly denied all these allegations. Khan and his wife are currently in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. According to jail officials, Bushra Bibi also underwent eye surgery at a Rawalpindi hospital on April 17. A team of doctors is currently monitoring the health of both of them.
