Nepal's Education Minister Issues Circular for Students Affected by Resettlement

Kathmandu. Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmita Pokharel, has issued a 6-point circular regarding the safety and facilitation of students affected by the resettlement of informal settlements. 

Following the minister's directive, the Education and Human Resource Development Center under the ministry has issued various directives and requests to make the examination management of students, adjustment and coordination of schools in the affected settlements effective during the relocation of disorganized settlements. 

The center has requested all local levels to facilitate the transfer of students affected by the removal of informal settlements to convenient schools. Specifically, it has requested to facilitate the travel of examinees participating in the Grade 12 examination, which began on Monday, to the examination centers and to arrange for alternative measures in places where schools themselves are affected. 

The ministry has also requested local levels to send any other complaints, problems, or suggestions related to students and schools in informal settlements to the center.
