788 new cottage and small industries registered in Tanahu

Tanahu –A total of 788 new cottage and small industries were registered in the Office of the Cottage and Small Industry (OCSI), Tanahu district in the last fiscal year 2074/75. 


More than Rs 5.3 million was collected in revenue from renewal, name transfer and dissolution of the industries, among other headings. 


According to the OCSI in Tanahu, among the newly registered industries, 593 industries were categorized as small industries, 146 as micro enterprises and 49 as cottage industries. 


It is stated that registration and operation of cottage and small industries has increased in the district and the country over the years as investment-friendly environment has been enabled. 


To encourage entrepreneurs and promote small industries, the government has provisioned tax exemption in the registration of the new cottage and small industries to those willing to start small and micro level start-ups. 


Similarly, altogether 862 new industries were registered in the district in the fiscal year 2073/74, collecting over Rs 5.6 million in revenue from the renewal, name transfer and revocation among other of the industries, shared OCSM, Tanahu's junior officer Menaka Jamarkattel.
