Government Demolishes Squatter Settlements in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. The government deployed bulldozers today to clear two squatter settlements in Kathmandu. 

The operation began early Saturday morning in the squatter settlement located in the Thapathali area, followed by the demolition of the settlement in Gairigaun. 

While only four bulldozers were initially used in Thapathali, the number was increased to eight in Gairigaun due to the presence of larger and more permanent structures.
