Over 2,900 Drivers Penalized for Traffic Violations in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu. In the past 24 hours, 2,903 drivers have been penalized for violating traffic regulations. This has resulted in a revenue collection of Rs 2.556 million for the state treasury.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 127 individuals for driving under the influence, 281 for unauthorized 'ride-sharing', 200 for violating traffic signals, and 176 for speeding.

Similarly, 312 drivers were penalized for failing to maintain lane discipline, 65 for honking in prohibited areas, 74 for violating rules regarding passenger pick-up and drop-off at designated locations, and 1,499 for other traffic rule violations.
