US Assistant Secretary of State S. Paul Kapur Holds High-Level Talks in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs S. Paul Kapur, currently on a visit to Nepal, held a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Chhetri, the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Durbar on Monday focused on bilateral relations and various matters of mutual interest.

The discussions reportedly covered strengthening the friendly ties between Nepal and the United States, as well as expanding economic relations by enhancing cooperation in trade and investment.

The ministry stated that both sides committed to further collaboration in areas of mutual interest and exploring opportunities for economic partnership. It was noted that discussions were held to continue efforts to link the long-standing diplomatic relations between Nepal and the US with the foundation of economic development.

Minister Kapur, who arrived in Nepal yesterday for a three-day visit, held discussions with Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and Nepali industrialists yesterday.

Kapur is also scheduled to meet with Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle today.
