Infrastructure projects completed in Galkot, Baglung

Baglung. Three short road projects and a ward office building have been completed simultaneously in the Galkot Municipality area of Baglung. The construction of the Galkot-3 ward office building has been finished, alongside the blacktopping and concrete paving of approximately two and a half kilometers of road.

These projects were constructed with the financial support of the Federal Urban and Building Construction Project Office, Baglung. Galkot Municipality Mayor Bharat Sharma Gaire stated that the new ward office building, the road leading to Galkot Kotghar, and the Naredanti road were completed on time. He expressed confidence that these completed infrastructures would make services provided by the local level more organized, effective, and citizen-friendly.

Mayor Gaire emphasized that the local government is the closest government to the people and that the development of physical infrastructure is essential to make service delivery fast, easy, and transparent. The land for the ward office building was managed by forming a land management committee. Bageshwori Multipurpose Construction Pvt. Ltd. began construction after signing an agreement in Bhadra 2081, with a deadline to complete the ward office and the three roads by Falgun 2082.

The three short roads and the ward office building under the Federal Urban and Building Construction Project Office were completed within the contract period. The projects, funded by a single budget, included one kilometer of blacktopped road connecting Galkot-1 and 2 Narethanti, one kilometer of blacktopped road connecting the Kotghar in Ward No. 3, and 300 meters of concrete road in the Harichaur area of Ward No. 5. According to project engineer Gopichandra Acharya, the three roads and the ward office building were constructed at a total cost of Rs 76,584,000.
