Nepal Army Concludes Ex-Servicemen Conference 2082 in Ramechhap

Ramechhap. The final phase of the 'Ex-Servicemen Conference-2082', organized for retired soldiers and single women residing in the Himalayan and hilly districts under the Mid-Eastern Division of the Nepali Army, has concluded in Ramechhap.

Held under the theme 'Military Reunion, Welfare of Beneficiaries, and Sustainability of the Fund', the event at the Khadgadala Battalion in Ramechhap was led by Lieutenant General Pradipjung KC. Approximately 6,500 retired soldiers and their family members from the region attended the conference.

During the event, 102-year-old single woman Narmaya Karki was honored as the 'Centenarian Woman'. Additionally, certificates of appreciation and awards were presented to four parents who encouraged their children to serve in the Nepali Army, as well as to senior ex-servicemen and outstanding entrepreneurs. Twenty-four ex-servicemen with disabilities were also provided with wheelchairs and crutches.

The Nepali Army believes such programs strengthen the bond between serving and retired personnel. The Army stated that suggestions collected during the conference will help make welfare fund services more effective in the areas of education, health, and self-employment.

With this, the series of ex-servicemen conferences scheduled for the fiscal year 2082/083 has officially concluded, according to a statement issued by the Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information on Saturday.
